AMAZON KIDS
When working with kids it can feel like an open book but can be challenging to have broad appeal. When designing the CMF for this particular Amazon customer, I needed to also reach the parents. In order to understand this customer I dedicated the first portion of the design work should go towards market trending and UX research. In this research the parent described wanted a design that could grow with the child. It was a priority to distinguishing between a lasting trends and a short lived fad.
The top choices for kids were spread out over the board with high interest in the animals and the gradient designs which were seen as "friendly and welcoming" to go in the kids rooms.
After running user research with kids and their parents it was a pleasant surprise to find out both boys and girls both liked the rainbow print. The sales of this colorful speaker proved that a gender neutral options can be a success.
